Have you ever heard the old saying of “sleeping like the dead”? It has perhaps never been more fitting than in the case of Pinto the horse.
Pinto likes to lazily take naps in the field that he calls home, only when he does, he looks like he’s quite dead. He lays flat on his back, with one leg stretched straight up into the air.

It can cause quite a few unusual phone calls and visits for his owners. Mark Palma posted one of the most recent example of the fright that Pinto has caused to his Facebook page, and the hilarious results have already been shared over 78K times.
Apparently he and his wife had received a call from electrical contractors, and the exchange that took place was all too common for them.
“Ma’am, you’ve got a dead horse here in your pasture.”
“No I don’t, he plays dead all the time. Is his leg sticking straight up in the air?”
“Yes ma’am. I’m telling you he’s dead. The leg sticking up is because rigor mortis has set in ma’am. I know horses, I own a few.”
“Sir, my horse ain’t dead. He plays possum. But, I’m coming. Give me a minute please.”
And so the woman ventured down, filming the entire scene that followed. She yells at Pinto to get up, and you can thankfully hear the horse make a sound, showing that he is indeed alive.
It takes the woman over a minute to get Pinto to stand up, as she even resorts to throwing a pebble and small piece of fence at him in an effort to wake him.

Pinto apparently gives the neighbors quite a scare on a regular basis, as the video uploader also left a few amusing comments, including one where she mentions that she’s told the neighbors to stop calling her unless they see buzzards flying over the body.
