Twins are said to be each other’s mind readers because they can understand each other when no one else can. This is due to to a concept called cryptophasia, which translates as “language of twins”.
According to Wikipedia, Cryptophasia is a phenomenon of a language developed by twins (identical or fraternal) that only the two children can understand.
It is estimated that 40% of twins will develop a language to communicate with one another. This explains why they appear to be able to read each other’s mind.
Twin intuition, or sensing what the other twin requires, can begin in the womb and last a lifetime. Many people have explained the phenomenon as telepathy because twins can be separated and still sense each other’s distress, but there hasn’t been any scientific evidence to back this up.
Instead, it is thought to be coincidental or caused by strong empathetic senses that cause a physical reaction. Because of their strong bond, the twin fees felt compelled to assist each other.
In today’s video, we are going to see an example of this.
Meet the boehmetwins, Jack and Ivy Boehme. They have over 420,000 followers on TikTok.
In the video, which has 4.2 million views, we see Jacky and Ivy resting in different cribs. One of the babies is wide awake, trying to rouse his sibling.
He throws a pacifier in an attempt to wake up his sibling after a bottle does not appear to work. When his attempts fail, he begins babbling and wailing. This rouses his sister, who quickly retrieves his binky for him.
Jessicabancroft, a TikTok user, makes a comment, “They must have twintuition.”
From wombmates to roommates, these two understand each other better than anyone else. They have a special bond that one hopes will grow with them.
