A soldier carries a skeleton around New York to raise awareness about veteran suicide.
Recently, Facebook user, Stacy Kieper, stumbled upon something peculiar. She spotted a tired looking soldier walking down the street with a skeleton in his arms. The skeleton was dressed in an army combat uniform along with beret on his head.
Feeling curious, Stacy asked the man why he was tirelessly walking around with a skeleton. She got an answer that left her speechless.
“I asked what he was doing and he was holding back tears. He told me he is raising awareness. When I asked what for, he told me he lost another friend to suicide yesterday. His friend is a soldier too.” – Writes Stacy on Facebook
Since Stacy posted the photo online, it has received thousands of likes, shares, and comments. A huge conversation has started about the rise of suicide among service members. Awareness is being raised on a massive scale.
