A Teacher’s Photo Receives Over 331,000 Shares. The Reason? Take A Look At Her Dress.
As the school year came to an end at Pat Henry Elementary in Lawton, Oklahoma, one teacher, Mrs. Castlebury, found herself feeling a little down. All of the adorable little first graders she got to know throughout the school year were now moving onto the second grade. It felt like the family was breaking up.
In order to commemorate the experience, Mrs. Castlebury came up with an idea that’s so good it’s actually starting to viral. She purchased a plain white dress, a pack of fabric markers, and told her students to draw whatever they want on the dress.
Ultimately, Mrs. Castlebury’s goal was for the students to create one big memory dress. In turn, the dress would serve as a way of preserving precious memories while also showing her class how much she cares about them.
The end result of their work turned out to be amazing. Mrs. Castlebury was so impressed that she decided to wear the dress for a whole day. She also promised to wear it to future open house events and at the beginning of the school year.
This is just the start of a beautiful tradition for Mrs. Castlebury. She plans to create a memory dress for all of her future students as well.
Her dress wound up being the hit of the school. Multiple faculty members made sure to stop by her classroom to see it. As of today, it’s also a big hit on the internet.
While something like this may seem silly or small, the gesture behind it absolutely beautiful. If there were more teachers like Mrs. Castlebury the world would be a far kinder place. We tip our hats off to you for making the next generation of students a better one!
